Great to see the Lake District featuring so highly. Living in the centre of it and being avid foodies, we reckon that this is the best county in the UK. We run Cumbria’s real food magazine, so if you want to know why we think it is so great chekc out some of our fantastic producers, chefs, restaurants and top deli’s, they are all here, just sometimes a little hard to find. – Martin – http://www.artisan-food.com
Thanks for commenting and providing that link. I’m yet to visit Cumbria myself but many of my colleagues here at Sawday’s speak highly of it and my parents went on a walking trip there last year (which I am still endlessly hearing about!) We’ve actually got three properties from Cumbria listed in Go Slow England so I will have to check one of them out as an excuse for visiting. Cheers, Thomas
